Josephine “JoJo” Abshire was born Mar. 19, 1951, and passed away Wedensday, Aug. 13, 2025, at the age of 74.
JoJo lived her life in full color. With a box of pencils and colors, she transformed blank pages into bright, joyful creations. She loved piecing together clues until every square was filled. JoJo thrived on kindness, cherishing time with friends, family, and anyone lucky enough to cross her path. She also loved to dance, no matter what song was playing, she enjoyed life to the fullest.
She is survived by her siblings, Cynthia Breaux Hollie, Sylvia Scott, Emile Abshire and wife Barbra, and Curtis Steven Abshire; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Denis and Mary Katherine Abshire; siblings, Denis Abshire, Debra Trouille, Mary Abshire, and Bryon Abshire; nephew, Jeffery Powell; and great niece, Elizabeth Smith.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
