Dustin Clay Dickerson was born Nov. 1, 1977, and went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025, at the age of 47.
He found his peace in early mornings on the lake with a fishing rod in hand, in the stillness of the woods during hunting season and in the hum of laughter echoing through the house during long evenings of video games with family or friends. Dustin was a man of faith, never one to miss a Sunday service, and someone whose presence in the pews was as steady as the steeple itself. Church wasn’t just a place he went; it was a part of who he was. But perhaps nothing defined him more than the quiet hours spent on his back porch. That porch, with its creaky boards and perfect view of the world passing by. It was where stories were told, coffee was sipped, storms were watched, and peace was found. He valued his service as an Eagle Scout, it was a reflection of the man he would become: dependable, humble and always ready to lend a hand.
He is survived by parents: his mother, Katy Dickerson; father, James Dickerson; siblings, Donnie Dickerson, and wife Crystal; niece and nephew, Cullen and Kyra Dickerson and aunts, Angelika Hund, and Anne McCammon.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 22, at Church of Christ, 225 Hall St, DeQuincy. Mr. Joey Franks and Mr. Al Woodard will be officiating.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
