CPSO to host Junior Deputy Academy

Sheriff Gary “Stitch” Guillory and the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office are hosting the Junior Deputy Academy for children in grades 6-8.

The program teaches children the importance of their roles as citizens in our community by teaching leadership skills and the value of teamwork. Attendees will also gain a better understanding of the various roles our CPSO deputies play in our community. The program encourages good moral character, integrity, and strong leadership.

Meet and greet and the first of six consecutive Saturday classes will begin Sept. 20, at the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, located at 5400 E. Broad St. in Lake Charles. Meet and greet will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the program will begin promptly at 9 a.m. A parent or guardian must attend meet and greet.
