The 2025 DeQuincy Fighting Tigers started fall practice last week in preparation for the upcoming season.
The Tigers will look to match or exceed last year’s 9-2 season that produced the program’s first district championship since 2000. It was also the program’s highest ranked seed since the beginning of the LHSAA power ranking system in 1999.
DeQuincy will return 6 starters on offense and 6 on defense.
The Tigers first live action will be on Thursday Aug. 21, in Winnie, Texas as they will scrimmage the East Chambers Buccaneers who are a 3A school in the Southeast Texas area. The Tigers will then play rival South Beauregard in the Sam Houston jamboree on Thursday Aug. 28. Both the scrimmage and jamboree start times are to be announced.
The Tigers first regular season game will be on Friday Sept. 5, at Hamilton Christian in Lake Charles. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
