Rodney Blake Lyons was born Nov. 11, 1958, and passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at the age of 66.
He was a devoted husband, father, and friend. Rodney loved spending time on the water, whether it be scuba diving or fishing. Rodney found joy working with his hands, building and welding things. He was loved by many, but he also loved others, especially his church family.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Shirley Lyons; children, Steven Moore and wife Amy, Amanda Lyons, Alexis Foster, and husband Dusty; grandchildren, Miley, Jace, Isabella, Archie, Hannah; great-grandchildren, Ahmarie, Serenity; sibling, Greg Hughes; along with numerous great aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his child, Amy Lyons; grandchild, Audriey Moore; parents, William, and Mary Ruth Lyons; siblings, Charlene Stanley, Judy Clark, and James Rainwater.
The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 19, at Hargrove Bible Baptist Church, 1427 Hargrove Loop, DeQuincy, Louisiana. Bro. Vance Perkins will be officiating. Inurnment will follow at Perkins Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
