CMsgt Morris Seamans

CMSgt Morris C. Seamans of DeQuincy, was born Nov. 12, 1936, and passed away Sunday, June 22, 2025, at the age of 88.

He was a 30-year veteran of the United States Air Force where he served as an air traffic controller and obtained the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He was a dedicated son of the south whose overseas assignments included Taiwan, Germany, Vietnam and Michigan.

He was a graduate of McKenzie High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Illinois.

He was a devoted husband, father, uncle and friend. He is survived by his daughter in spirit, Elena Devito and husband Larry; and his nieces, Patty Kingery and husband Glenn, Joyce Sigler and husband Carl, and Sherry Mason and husband Mike.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynette Ferguson Seamans; their son, Douglas Allen; his parents, Icia and Herman Seamans; his sister, Bobbye Seamans Barlow; and his brother, James Douglas Seamans.

The family would like to thank Sage Oaks Assisted Living and St. Joseph Hospice for the excellent care provided for their loved one.

The family will receive friends from 10 until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 12, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy.

Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
