Jarvis “Cooter” Wayne Cooley, of Singer died Sunday, Apr. 27, 2025, at the age of 67.
Born in Lake Charles, he dedicated over 40 years to the gas and petroleum industry, working with Texaco Drilling Company and retiring from Anadarko and OXY Pet as the Gulf of Mexico Operations Special Projects Coordinator. In his later years, he worked in industry as a consultant.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Cooley of Singer; children, Michael Ryan Cooley and Erin of Singer; H. Erin Cooley of Singer; brother, Kevin Cooley of Singer; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Scott G. Cooley; parents, J. LaRue and Opal Cooley; and one brother.
The funeral service was held Thursday, May 1, at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home, followed by burial at Newlin Cemetery in Singer. Bro. Kennis Smith and Bro. Garrett Fuselier officiated.
