Wanda Granger

Wanda Granger, 88, passed away on Saturday, Mar. 22, 2025, in a local hospice.

She was a native of the Orange, Texas area and had been a resident of Starks for nearly 60 years. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Starks. She worked as a nurse for many years, sales agent for Boise Cascade and a travel advisor for La. Tourist Information Center.

Survivors include her daughter, Debra Tyler and husband Frank of Dry Creek; son, Jeffrey Granger of Farmerville; sister, Dora Hoffpauir of Orange, Texas; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood Franklin Granger; parents, Jack and Donalee Yarbrough; two siblings; grandsons, Frank Tyler III and Benny Tyler; and a great-grandson, Brant Tyler.

Her funeral service was held Saturday, Mar. 29, in First Baptist Church of Starks. The Revs. Ron Butler and Charlie Bailey officiated. Burial was in Doyle Cemetery in Starks under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Dry Creek Baptist Camp, P.O.
