Roger Matthew Clark, 39, of Sulphur passed away on Friday, Mar. 14, 2025, at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital in Sulphur. He was born on Feb. 5, 1986, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was the beloved youngest child of Roger Clark of DeQuincy and Cassie Holt Clark of Singer.
Due to being born, extremely premature, Roger had severe physical and neurological disabilities, along with being nonverbal. Roger always found ways to make you understand exactly what he wanted, and if he wanted to get somewhere, he got there quickly. He also had a superhuman ability at flipping magazine pages at the speed of light, but his greatest attribute was his love. This child radiated pure joy and always had a smile on his face.
Roger is deeply loved by his family which includes his parents; big brothers, Michael Clark of Singer and Daniel (KayKay) Clark of Singer; grandmother, Doris Raby of DeQuincy; aunt, Sandi Gary of DeQuincy; uncles, Skeeter Burnett of Dequincy and Eric (Alicia) Holt of Medina, Ohio; nephew, Daniel “Junior” Clark; nieces, Jacklyn and Faylyn Clark; all of Singer; Evergreen group home family, Ms. Kim, Ms. Brandy, and Ms. JoJo; along with numerous other staff and housemates.
He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Bobby Clark of DeQuincy, Paul Holt of DeQuincy; grandmother, Mary “Katie” Holt of Westlake; uncles, Jack Holt of DeQuincy and Paul Holt Adrian of Michigan; and aunt, Dee Love Flint of Michigan.
What an honor and blessing it has been to be entrusted with such a precious treasure. Rest now my sweet boy and when you awaken, we will be together again.
Family will be holding private services.
Cremation was entrusted to Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
