Fanetta Keener

Fanetta “Sissy” Keener, 74, of Starks was born Aug. 20, 1950, and passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025, in Kilgore, Texas. She loved to cook and go to the casino. She was not like any other. She was the one we called for any advice and none of us ever wanted to hear what came next. We never liked the same food, but she made sure she cooked each of us what we wanted. She loved her family more than anything and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Perry Keener; children, Stephanie Ball, James Ball, Amanda Ball (Tommy), Hope Cox (Austin), and Cole Keener; grandchildren, JC (Elysa), Madison, Randi (Peyton), Steven (Lexi), and Hunter; great-grandchildren, Jemma, Waylon, and Walker; brother, Gene Clark (Beverly); sister-in-law, Vicki (Mike); along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Winifred and Earlis Clark; twin brother, Roy Clark; and brother, Greg Clark.

The family received friends from 5-8 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 2, and continued from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3 at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Rev. Mike Streams officiated. Interment followed at Miller Annex in Starks.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
