Sherman Ray Guillory, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Sept. 22, 1958. He was 66 years old.
Sherman is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Evonne Langley Guillory; two children, Amber Veuleman (Cory) and Josh Guillory (Haley); six grandchildren, Landry, Eli, Jamie, Cooper, Daniel, and Branson; five siblings, Sharon Gary, Terry Guillory (Myra), Connie Tuttle (Jackie), Kevin Guillory (Leanne), and Russell Guillory (Shirley); and countless other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Guillory; mother, Marlene Moore; and sister, Debra Dear.
The family received friends from 4-8 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 19, at New Hope Baptist Church in DeQuincy. A celebration of Sherman’s life took place at New Hope Baptist Church at 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 20. Interment followed at Newlin Cemetery in Singer.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
