Amy Marie Berg was born June 19, 1960, and passed away Sunday, Jan. 12, 2025, at the age of 64. Amy was a girl scout leader, soccer coach, and took part in Vacation Bible School. She enjoyed the beach, sunrises, playing board games, and working outside with her husband in the shop. She was a faithful member for 20 years at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Her grandchildren were her world, she loved her family more than anything and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Michael Berg; children, Erin Mefford and husband Thomas, and Josh Berg and wife Haley; grandchildren, Joanie Berg, Atlas Mefford, and Macie Berg; siblings, Johnny VanHaverbeke, Steve VanHaverbeke, Pete VanHaverbeke, Mark VanHaverbeke, and Lisa O’Connor; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Myrtle VanHaverbeke; and her sister, Beth VanHaverbeke.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Cremation was entrusted to Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
