Delferd “Del” Douget was born April 23, 1940, and passed away January 10, 2025, at the age of 84.
Delferd was a long-time member of 9th and Elm Church of Christ in Orange, Texas. He loved his church family dearly. He retired from Citgo as a welder and in his free time, he enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, and spending quality time with family.
He is survived by his wife Judine B. Douget; children, Roger Douget and wife, Kris, Jody Douget and fiancé, Rowena; grandchildren Layla; step-grandchildren, Lauryn Young and husband, Joshua, Levi Hyatt; great-grandchildren, Emma, Jude, and Jackie; siblings, Ronald Douget, Harold Douget, Lou Heckard Vianna Scoggins along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Felician Douget and wife, Isabel Guillory Douget; siblings Helen Simmons, Jimmy Douget, Lenis Douget and Wilson Douget; brother in-law, Daniel R. Bass; in-laws, Clarence Bass and wife, Eula Mae Bass.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 13, 2025, and the funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Riley Smith and Sons Funeral Home. Mr. Freddie Anderson will be officiating. Interment will follow at Hyatt Cemetery.
