Charles L. Pierson, Sr., of Ragley and native of West Virginia, was born Apr. 17, 1950, and entered into Heaven on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024, at the age of 74.
Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed fishing and raising pigs after retiring from Port of Lake Charles BT1 of 30 years.
He is survived by his one son, Charles L. Pierson Jr. and wife Cristy of Carlyss; three daughters, Tammy Myers and husband Donald Jr. of Sulphur, Crystal Doucette and husband Ray Jr. of Carlyss, and Rayneall Spurgeon and husband Will of Ragley; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one sister, Joann Hutchinson of Ohio; two brothers, Dencil Pierson Jr. and wife Linda of Ohio, and Roger Pierson Sr. of Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Pierson; parents, Dencil and Wavoline Pierson of Ohio; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Micheal Kendrick, Cody Myers, Ronald Stains, Rodger Spurgeon, Shawn Spurgeon, Dylan Pierson, Kade Pierson, Jeremy dePerrodil, David Myers, and Donny Lefleur.
The family received friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 2, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Interment followed at Westlake Memorial Park in Westlake.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
