Marty Lynn Marcantel was born Apr. 13, 1958, and passed away Thursday, Dec. 5, 2024, at the age of 66.
He enjoyed cooking and looked forward to hunting season every year. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his buddies. He loved his family and his church family dearly. Above all, Marty loved God. He was a man of faith. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Marcantel; stepchildren, Ronnie Frazee, Amber Frazee, and Kurt Beard; children, Scottlynn Bonneau and husband Jeffery, and Marty Lynn Marcantel Jr.; grandchildren, Ava Grace and Jeffery “Tripp” Bonneau III; step grandchildren, Caleb Masten and Bailee Fisch; mother, Vivian Lee; siblings, Odelia Brown, Debra Eygabroad and husband Robert, JoAnn Hughes and husband Jim, Arthur Marcantel Jr., and Olan Marcantel; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur “Peanut” Marcantel; stepfather, Charles “Buck” Lee; and his mother-in-law, Louise Gaskins.
The family received friends from 5 – 8 p.m., Monday, Dec. 9, with the funeral service held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 10, at Calvary Apostolic Church in Starks. Pastor Jeremy Shields and Rev. Alfred Gibson officiated. Interment followed at Fountain Cemetery in Starks.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
