Dr. Charles Richard Hebert died Friday, Oct. 25, 2024, at the age of 59. He was born in New Orleans.
He was ordained into the ministry by Ernest Walker, Pastor of Sale Street Baptist Church while he was serving as the youth pastor in DeQuincy.
After graduating from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, Hebert began his career in ministry as a church planter in Minnesota. From Minnesota, he moved to Texas and served at First Baptist Euless before becoming the singles minister at Southcliff Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. He became a Single Adult Minister and later a Minister to Married Adults at Prestonwood Baptist Church.
He served as the lead pastor of First Baptist Church in DeQueen, Ark. for seven years. During that time, he earned his Doctorate of Pastoral Care from Southwestern Theological Seminary, before returning to Prestonwood, where he continued his ministry in pastoral care until his passing.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; children, Ian and Katie; parents, Richard and Shirley Hebert; and one sister.
The funeral was held Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Prestonwood Baptist Church in the sanctuary.
