Darrell Bruce Thompson was born on May 4, 1953, and passed away at home in Lumberton, Texas on Monday, Oct. 21, 2024. Darrell proudly served his country in the United States Marines. He enjoyed playing the Slots and loved his dogs.
He is survived by his son, Adam Thompson and wife Angela; daughters, Kimberly Owens and Melisa Waits; grandchildren, Charlie Thompson, Alexis Thompson, Katherine Sullivan, Sebastian Owens, Serenity Owens, Michael Kendrick, Dylan Kendrick, and Devan Kendrick; great grandchildren, Kylie Kendrick and Kyra Kendrick.
He was preceded in death by his lifelong partner, Carol Taylor; children, Regina Taylor, Theresa Taylor and Angie Taylor; and grandson, Toby Owens.
The family received friends from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 28, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Graveside service was held at 12:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 28, at Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 1610 Evangeline Hwy, Jennings.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
