Diann Heath, 72, of League City, Texas, formerly of DeQuincy, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024. Born on Sept. 11, 1952, Diann lived a life full of love, service, and devotion to her family, friends, and students.
In 1971, Diann married her high school sweetheart, Don Heath, and together they built a beautiful family. She was a dedicated and beloved teacher, guiding students in English, drama, and special education, and was honored with the prestigious Teacher of the Year award during her career. Her passion for teaching touched the lives of many.
Diann is survived by her daughter, LeeAnn Heath; and her son, Cody Heath (Lauren); as well as her cherished grandchildren, Dillon, Cody, Elizabeth, Michael Jr., Kaitlyn, Grace, Ben, Jackson, and Lincoln. She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren, Blake, Xander, Oakley, and Haven; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Diann will be dearly missed by her sister, Sharon; and brothers, Jimmy, Freddy, and Robert.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her parents, Bobbie Lee and Jim; and her son, Michael.
Diann was a devoted member of Clear Creek Community Church’s East 96 Campus, where her faith flourished. She spent her free time painting, gardening, traveling, and indulging in her favorite pastime, which she lovingly referred to as “padiddling.”
Special thanks are extended to Diann’s ladies’ small group at church and the many caregivers who surrounded her with love and support, including her granddaughter, Elizabeth; niece. Cheslie; brothers, Jimmy and Freddy; and especially her sister, Sharon.
Diann’s warmth, humor, and unwavering kindness will be forever remembered by those fortunate enough to have known her. Her legacy of love and dedication will live on through her family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Rev. Mike Streams will officiate. Interment to follow at Perkins Cemetery in DeQuincy.
