Wilma Lee Jackson Hodges was born Oct. 2, 1927, and passed away Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024, at the age of 96. She was the oldest of 10 children and a minister’s daughter. Wilma retired after 25 years of being a Beauregard school teacher. She was a hard worker and loved to be outdoors. She was a faithful wife to the love of her life for 76 years. Wilma was also a faithful member of the First Pentecostal Church of Ragley. She loved her family and loved being “Granny”.
She is survived by her children, Tana Hodges Pearson, Paulette Hodges Ardoin, and Terri Hodges Johnson; grandchildren, Benjamin Pearson and wife Angela, Jacob Pearson and wife Samantha, and Cy Ardoin; great-grandchildren, Treasure Picou, Logan Ardoin, Ross Picou, Riley Pearson, Miranda Dyer, Ezri Allen, Edyn Allen, Colt Pearson, Madison “Mattie” Sipe, Rafe Allen, and Lark Allen; and siblings, Verdice Jackson, Carlton Jackson and wife Joy, and Larry Jackson and wife Lindsey; along with numerous other family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Lee Hodges; granddaughter, Hevynlee Allen; parents, William and Arizona Jackson; and siblings, George C. Jackson, W.A. Jackson, and Wyoming “Bobbye” Schoneboom.
The family received friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 14, at First Pentecostal Church in Ragley. Pastor Sean Chisholm and Rev. Carlton Jackson Jr. officiated. Interment followed at Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
