Buck Henson

Buck Wayne Henson, 45, of Deweyville, Texas, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2024.

Born in Galveston, Texas on June 1, 1979, Buck was the son of Thomas G Henson and Linda Diane (Loupe) Henson. He grew up in the Austin, Texas area where he met his lifelong partner Sylvia Cervantes at 15 years old. They moved to Deweyville, where they had their two sons, Thomas and Nathan Henson. Buck was known as a “Jack of All Trades”. He never met a stranger that he would not help. Buck loved being a father and Uncle Buck to many nephews, nieces, and countless friends of his boys.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jessie and Mary Belle Henson, CA and Dorothy Loupe; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. There were many smiling faces and open arms when he walked through Heaven’s gates.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Cervantes of Deweyville, Texas; his sons, Thomas Henson of Orange, Texas; Nathan Henson of Deweyville, Texas; Mitchell Henson and wife Christian, and their two girls, Laytree Bay and Kamzee of Starks; his siblings: sister, Belva Linscomb and husband Allen of Deweyville, Texas, sister, Mattie Schartz and Husband Shannon of Deweyville, Texas; brother, Jessie Henson and wife Shaneaqua of Milano, Texas, sister, Shant’e Davis and husband James of Troy, Texas; parents, Thomas G Henson of Deweyville, Texas and mother, Linda Diane (Loupe) Henson of Port Neches, Texas; along with many nieces, nephews, and other friends and family. He will truly be missed by so many.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 21, at Calvary Baptist Church in Deweyville. Pastor John Fortenberry will be officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
