Linda Elizabeth Duhon Ellender was born Jan. 7, 1943, and passed away Monday, Aug. 26, 2024, at the age of 81.
She is survived by her children, Angela Ellender, Chad Ellender and wife Amy, Damon Ellender and wife Rachael, Heath Ellender, and Landon Ellender; grandchildren, Heston, Donovan, Seth, Tyler, Ashton, Caitlyn, Josie, Talynn, Logan, and Connor; great-grandchildren, Ziggy, Blayke, Wyatt, Levi, Dakota, Savannah, and Hayden; sister, Patsy Richard; and friend, Roger Sandifer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry G. Ellender Sr.; daughter, Blanch Ellender; stepson, Larry G. Ellender II; parents, Murl and Clara Duhon; and brother, T-Joe Duhon.
The family received friends from 5 – 8 p.m. with the Rosary being held at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 28, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 29, at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church, DeQuincy. Reverend Jeffrey Starkovich officiated. Interment followed at Farquhar Cemetery in Sulphur.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
