Mary Lutrick

Mary Stephanie Lutrick, 64, of Houston, Texas, passed away on Aug. 3 of 2024, after a battle with cancer.

Stephanie was born on Dec. 17, 1959, to Mother Mary Morgan in Pomona, Calif. She and her mother and brother Steven moved from California to Lansing, Mich. in 1971. She and Steven were invited to attend Children’s Church at the Parker Memorial Baptist Church, and she fell in love with the church and began to attend the school. After Stephanie graduated from Lansing Baptist Academy in Lansing, Mich., she went on to study at Massillon Baptist College. On Apr. 20, of 1980, Stephanie, accompanied by several college friends, attended a camp meeting at the White Plains Baptist Church in Mount Airy, North Carolina was confronted by a lady by the name of Irene Black a complete stranger, who told her she wanted to introduce her to Stephanie’s husband. She pulled Stephanie through the church by the hand, where she walked up to a young man from Columbia, a young preacher and introduced both of them to their future spouse and told them that the Lord spoke to her and said that they were going to be married and serve God together. Within 12 hours of that moment, Stephanie Russell, and Gary Wayne Lutrick knew beyond the shadow of a doubt that their lives were drawn together by the hand of God. A few months later, they were married and moved to Houston Texas to begin their lives together. Stephanie and Gary Lutrick went on to have four children, Gary, Jacob Donald, Kathleen Joy Dee Ann and Elizabeth Wyvonne. Stephanie only ever had a few hobbies. First and foremost, she loved her Savior, who on Mar. 1, 1971, gloriously saved her soul and forever changed the course of her life. Second, she was a supportive wife to her husband. Third, she was a mom, a great mom.

Stephanie was preceded in death by her mother, Mary; and brothers, Phillip and George.
