Harold Dean Hammett a resident of Sulphur, passed away Monday, Aug. 5, 2024 at the age of 65. He enjoyed hunting and fishing but most of all he loved his family and he will be greatly missed.
Harold Hammett left behind his best friend of twenty-four years, Kathy Hammett.
He is survived by his children, Brandon Hammett and wife, Stacy, Destiny Puffpaff, Dylan Hammett and wife, Ruby, Leigh Hammett and husband, Gabe; Stacy Sims, Anita Maddox and husband, Ken, Wayne Simon, Jr. and wife Kim; twenty-six grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Maynard; and brother, Jimmy Hammett.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Hollis Hammett and Ruby Hammett; and his brother, John Ed Hammett.
The family will receive friends 4 – 6-p.m. and the funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 9. The visitation and funeral service will be held at Riley Smith and Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Bro. Mike Streams will be officiating.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
