Wayne Simon, Sr. was born Mar. 11, 1956, and passed away Thursday, May 16, 2024, at the age of 68. He loved to be outdoors. Wayne enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. More than anything, he loved his family.
He is survived by his wife, Dewana Simon; first wife and mother of his children, Kathy Hammett; children, Stacy Simon, Anita Maddox and husband Ken, Wayne Simon Jr. and wife Kim, James Sims, Jason Sims, and Christene Sims; 22 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Linda Smith, Virginia White and husband Garland, Euell Simon and wife Sandy, and Hilda Says.
He was preceded in death by his parents, E.J. and Nina Simon; and brother, James Simon.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 17, and continued from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 18, all at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy, Louisiana. Interment followed at VFW Cemetery in Starks.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
