Hamp A. Perkins was born April 25, 1956, and passed away Friday, May 17, 2024, at the age of 68.
Our daddy wasn’t a man of many words, but his love was strong and felt by so many. If you met him you most likely had a friend for life. He loved going to the camp, hunting, fishing, and just driving his black Chevy down the backroads. He had a love of music, especially an electric guitar. That man could put on a show! Out of all the things he loved, the most was definitely our mom and his grandkids. Until we meet again Daddy. We Love You.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Perkins; daughters, Ashley Perkins, Amberly Perkins (Dion Guillory), and Adrienne Perkins (Jeff Henry); grandchildren, Deontae, Jordan, Jayden, Cruz, Kynedi, Mason, Emmy, and Layne; great-granddaughter, Arlynn Rose; siblings, Shelton Perkins, Janell Adams and (Jack), Eva Rose Sauvaunt (Ray) and Joye Faye Ruef (Bernard); along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Curley and Helen Perkins; brothers, Cecil Perkins, Willis Perkins, Hubert Perkins, Keith Perkins, Kenneth Perkins, and Fred Perkins; and sisters, Ethel Matthews and Carrie Lummus.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, May 23, with the funeral service being held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 24, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Interment to follow at Good Hope Cemetery in Singer.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
