Leon Laval Clark, Sr., 94, of Avinger, Texas, passed from this life on Saturday, May 4, 2024.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Leon Clark, Jr. of Longview, Texas, John Clark and Clara of Houma; daughter, Sherry Laird and Jessie of Avinger, Texas; brothers, Harold Clark of Silsbee, Texas, Jessie Clark of Starks, George Clark and Mary of DeRidder; sisters, Bonnie Henderson and Wade of Manassas, Va., Lorine Sanders of DeRidder, Flois Rainwater of DeQuincy, Lois Tomplait of Kirbyville, Texas; grandchildren, Stephanie Clark, Samantha Clark, Sam Armstrong, Brandy Jackson, Jeremiah Diener, Renee Harper, Dale Real, Crystal Pierre, Rocky Butcher; thirteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Hebert Clark; wife and mother of his children, Alta Rae Clark; parents, Ivy and Lovey Doyle Clark; brothers, Paul Clark, T.J. Clark, Lonie Clark; and sisters, Loanie Clark, Waverly LeBleu.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 11, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Pastor Charlie Williams and Pastor Ricky Wead officiated the service. Pallbearers were Dewayne Smith, Sherwin Williams, Frank Williams, Jr., Matt Taylor, George Clark, Jr., Chris Clark. Burial followed at Good Hope Cemetery in Singer.
Services were under the direction of Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder.
