Billy Charles Waters, 78, of Sulphur died Monday, Aug. 14, 2023 at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital.
He was born in Natchitoches. He was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Sulphur for over 35 years. He was known to the community as “Tar Baby” of “Tar Baby Tires”, which he owned for 12 years and eventually retired.
He is survived by his wife, Robin Waters; children, Anita Moss of Wynnewood, Okla., Delain Waters of Topsy, Regina Waters-Rester of Starks, Joshua Waters of Carlyss, Aaron Waters of Vinton, Timothy Waters of Sulphur, Kayla Rutherford of Vidor, Texas, Billy Waters, Jr. of Carlyss, and Tammie Purcell of Orange, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two on the way.
A celebration service was held at First Pentecostal Church of Sulphur on Friday, Aug. 18, with Pastor Harlan Morgan officiating. Burial followed at Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
