Roy Tinsley, a resident of DeQuincy, was born July 3, 1944 and passed away Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2022 at the age of 77.
Roy proudly served his country in the United States Army.
He is survived by his daughters, Sandy DeVries and husband, Angelo, Jr. of Dayton, Texas and Carolyn Clark and husband, Brad of Moss Bluff; grandchildren, James Paul Wilkerson, III and wife Emily of Natchitoches, Arlene Wilkerson of Houston, Texas and Christopher Clark of Moss Bluff; four great-grandchildren, James Paul “J-Dub” Wilkerson IV, Catherine Wilkerson, Georgia Wilkerson and Hannah Wilkerson. He is also survived by his brother, Willie Tinsley of Cawood, Kentucky and Darlene Farley of Harlan, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosie Lee Doyle Tinsley; parents, Roy Leo Tinsley and Hazel Mitchell Tinsley; brothers, Gilbert Tinsley and Jimmy Tinsley; and sisters, Betty Sue Tinsley and Ann Day.
The family received friends from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 5, and the funeral service began at 2 p.m. The visitation and funeral service were held at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, in DeQuincy.
Pallbearers for the service were James Wilkerson III, Christopher Clark, Clayton Raggio, Ethan Raggio, Evan Raggio and Jamie Stewart. Rev. Donnis Ashworth officiated. Interment followed at Good Hope Cemetery in Singer.
The family would like to express a special thank you to St. James House of Baytown and Faith Community Hospice for their wonderful care of their loved one.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
