Flora Mae Smith Hoosier of DeQuincy was born July 20, 1937 and passed away Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020 at the age of 82.
She is survived by her children, James Mitchell and wife, Chris of Starks, Billy Gibbs, Jr. and wife, Carol of Rosenburg, Texas and John Kiddy and wife, Alicia of Crosby, Texas; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Doris Shelden and husband, George of Texarkana, Texas, Calvin Smith Jr. of Florida, Harold Ray Smith of Starks; and half-sister, Pauline Gore of DeQuincy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Smith and Callie Marie Bolenbaucher Smith; along with 16 brothers and sisters.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28 at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy and the funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 29 at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home. Interment followed at Brushy Creek Cemetery in Bancroft.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
