The DeQuincy Railroad Museum housed in the 1923 Kansas City Southern Railroad Depot is DeQuincy’s most recognizable historic building. The museum was established in 1974 and its mission is to acquire, preserve, and display railroad artifacts of a bygone era and to heighten public awareness of the role of the railroad industry to DeQuincy’s history and also the region and state as well.
Many changes are in store for the museum in coming months: new interior lighting with period ceiling fans, new exterior signage, and a professional upgrade in the presentation of artifacts.
The museum has facilities available for rent.
