Serving DeQuincy for more than 50 years, the DeQuincy Chamber of Commerce has offices in the Railroad Museum. Lillian Karr is Chamber Manager. Current officers are: Shelia Dougharty, president; Grover Smith and Kyle Rhodes, vice-presidents; Misty Nash, treasurer.
Some of the Chamber’s recent projects were:
Sponsor Christmas Parade and Fireworks; activities during the KCS Christmas Train Stop; October decorations contest for businesses; Ribbon Cuttings for new businesses; Meet and Greet Reception and Annual Golf Tournament.
They are also active supporters of highway improvement in downtown DeQuincy, sponsoring the Pickin’ and Singin’ Event and the Annual Chamber Banquet and Citizen of the Year award.
