Cameron State Bank is truly a community bank meeting the needs of residents of all ages in Southwest Louisiana. “Our focus has always been to provide our customers the convenience and service found in large national banks while remaining locally owned,” said Roy Raftery, CEO.
Founded in 1966, Cameron State Bank began as one branch in Cameron. Today, there are 20 banking centers with locations in: Lake Charles, Sulphur, Carlyss, Moss Bluff, Westlake, DeQuincy, Vinton, Hackberry, Grand Lake, Kinder, Oberlin, and Oakdale.
There are 275 employees and more than 50 ATMs. Soon, two new branches will open; one in Creole and a second one in Moss Bluff.

Earlier this year, Cameron State Bank introduced Community Check Cashing, a service offered to anyone regardless of whether or not they have a bank. Payroll, government or tax refund checks can be cashed quickly and easily by completing the brief, secure enrollment form at any CSB location. In less than two minutes, registration is completed and checks can be cashed and the participants are automatically entered in monthly drawings for $100. A $1,000 drawing will be held in December. The first three money orders are free when using Community Check Cashing.
The Elite Club at Cameron State Bank offers customers 50 years and older exclusive services and discounts, including social events and informational seminars. By maintaining a minimum deposit of $5,000, Elite Club members receive identity theft insurance, payment card protection, no fee traveler’s checks and unlimited check writing, among other benefits. “The Elite Club is a social club, as well,” explained Brenda Fontenot, Elite Club Director. “We offer exciting vacations ranging from day-long excursions to international trips. We offer seminars about personal finance and even gourmet cooking! There’s a little something for everyone.”
Just as the Elite Club appeals to seasoned bank customers, Moolah Mallard is the hot topic for younger bank customers. Moolah, a financial superhero, recently flew into town and quickly became a favorite with kids. The Moolah Mallard Kids’ Club is a savings account designed to encourage kids to learn more about money and responsibility. Kids’ Club members receive a quarterly newsletter, membership card, deposit cards, invitations to special events that are exclusive to Kids’ Club members, and a plush toy version of Moolah.
The Dazzling Diamond Giveaway has won the hearts of women across Southwest Louisiana! Beginning in January, Cameron State Bank gave away one spectacular diamond jewelry piece each month. We’ve showered ladies with diamond earrings, pendants, a line bracelet and rings. The Grand Finale was a $14,000 diamond ring! “It’s been a fun event,” said Mary Williams, Senior Vice President. “It’s been one of our most popular giveaways and caused quite a buzz in the area!
