Three locals recognized for heroic efforts

At the City Council meeting Monday night, Mayor Lawrence Henagan recognized two local youth and a local man for saving the life of a 20-month old toddler earlier this year. Tyler Ja-mar Vincent was accidentally run over and pinned under a car. Deanta Jordan, Damarian Payne and Robert Jack, all of DeQuincy came to the child's rescue, lifting the car off of the child. Payne is 17 and Jordan is 16. Their quick response is attributed to saving the child's life. Read More
